Chapter 1: The New Year

So it's a new year! :) I can't believe that it is 2010 and I'm going to be twenty years old soon! That is ridiculous!

But Christmas was grand grand grand! I so needed that break! Quickly, let me share a Spiritual Experience I had over the break. I was caroling with my family for my Dad's birthday. It is a fun tradition we have :) Anyways, we went to the Wilde's house. They are a family who just recently lost their father in this VERY untimely unexpected surgical complication. It hasn't even been 6 months yet and there they were standing at the door and we broke into Joy to the World (At Least That's What I think the first song was) Tears were streaming down my face by the end of the first line. Joy to the world, the Lord is Come! It was overwhelming to me that because it is Christmas, because Christ came, this family can find Joy in this first holiday season without their Dad. Because we get to celebrate Christmas, this family can be together again. There would be no Joy in the Holidays without that knowledge. The only way we really can have joy is because Christ came! Joy to the world, the Lord is come! The Spirit reminded me that this is the reason we celebrate Christmas. It is because we have Christ. Because Christ chose to fulfill the Father's will, come to earth, born in a manger, grew to become a perfect example, and then suffered and died for all mankind, families can be together again.

And Frankly, I have the best family. Hands down.
